Dutch interiors brand HKLiving has just launched their collection for 2022/2023 and it’s exquisite. We’ve seen a lot of beige and “same-ness” for interiors in recent times and so much minimalism, but I believe that like the natural world around us, we as individuals seek balance so the pendulum swings yet again in design only in a different direction - from soft beige rooms with lots of new furnishings and objects to more colorful, collected and individual spaces with a mix of things from past and present. That, to me, is the middle point and it’s where I personally love to be. Cluttered decadence is at the opposite side and that’s a look that’s hard for me to connect with personally. I can manage beige and “Japandi”, but when I try to go to minimalist at home, I always fall back somewhere in the middle and end up adding some color, pattern, and vintage pieces.
Are you a minimalist?
Maximalist?
Or Middist (like me)? ha ha
In the latest collection from HKLiving, you’ll find vivid colors, bold prints and interesting color and material combinations. The collection is “New but Retro”, so pieces are inspired by times’ past with modern touches with new shapes and materials.
“Our new collection is full of chubby shapes, chrome materials and items inspired by the world of outer space.” - HKLiving
Here are some images from their catalog so you can see for yourself the direction this innovative and creative Dutch design brand is taking for the year to come.
What do you think? Do you see anything appealing to you? Are you a minimalist, maximalist or middist? And do you see anything above that strikes you, is pleasing to your eye?
