Dark and Moody Green For Autumn
Swedish designer Lisa Bengtsson brings us large-scale flora and fauna wallpaper for Fall in trendy green tones.
Have you noticed that darker shades of green are all the rage at the moment in fashion and interiors? Jade, Forest, Emerald… It’s no wonder that Swedish designer Lisa Bengtsson brings in her take on the green trend through her wallcoverings this season.
Known for large-scale patterns with animals, leaves and flowers, her latest RISE & SHINE collection brings in more large scale patterns and lots of green. Lisa has other colors in the new collection as well but we’ll focus on the green since it really stood out the most. RISE & SHINE has a, “Mild, soft and sober, tense color scale that is stylistically reminiscent of Art Deco but with a Lisa Bengtsson twist and elegance.”
With that said…Hippos, anyone?
How about leaves?
Flowers?
So tell me, are you a fan of wallpaper? I like wallpaper, but I tend to go with neutral patterns since I like to change my rooms so often and wallpaper in a specific color and pattern keeps me stuck a bit in that palette and look.
As for green, I’m more of a soft mossy green, mint or olive green fan, not so much emerald, jade, teal or “plant” green.
If you live in a period home and don’t enjoy constantly moving things around like I do, then wallpaper is the way to go if you want to add drama or a distinct look.
I have large-scale wallpaper in my living room on one wall. I had my entry in large-scale golden metallic pineapples on all four walls for nearly 5 years but retired that last summer for Schoolhouse White (Farrow & Ball) paint job. I also had wallpaper in my guest bathroom but it had to be removed because of a mold problem but I’d love to paper it again in some bonkers large-scale print because I think tiny bathrooms look amazing in bold and crazy patterns.
By the way…Would you like me to photograph my entry before (with the pineapple wallpaper) and after (as it is today)? Vote by commenting below and if there is interest, I’ll do it for you and post it next week.
