Hey friends, I’ve been sick all week but yesterday, things took a turn…
I FEEL LIKE I WAS RUN OVER BY A TRUCK.
I tested positive for Corona.
That’s why I’ve done a disappearing act lately. But I’ll be substacking again real soon, so please don’t think I’ve flaked out. I’m still here, I still have lists of posts and stories to share (and photograph!), I first need to focus on rest and recovery and climb over this stupid mountain of meh, eww, and yuck.
This is my first Corona (so romantic!) so I want to do everything right. My son and husband are also sick but they’ve tested negative so far… How can that be? Am I the rut of the litter?
What an unexpected surprise to be hit with this! (insert feelings of poor me)… Any Corona tips? Have you ever had it? How did you manage? How long did you have it? I’ll be reading from my Substack app in bed between naps, if you can leave tips, that would brighten my otherwise extremely crappy day.
Love,
Holly
Aaaargh. Well, that's proper rotten.
I think I speak for everyone when I say "we'll wait, PLS SUPER-RELAX AND BINGEWATCH COOKING SHOWS / TERRIBLE CHRISTMAS MOVIES / [OTHER], we're good here, no guilt if you can't muster the energy, zero guilt, maximum healing". Literally everyone.
Hi Holly, new subscriber here ☺️ just had my first experience of covid last month so I feel your pain! Hope you feel better soon. I had a very bad first week, second was better. But be prepared to be more tired than usual for a month or so. Of course it doesn't happen to everyone, some people recover quickly. I just needed (more) afternoon naps for a while : ). Another advice given to me is not to push your body to exercise as soon as you test negative or feel like you "should" exercise. Give it another couple of weeks. The body needs to recovery fully as covid is a full hit to our immune system.
