Hey there, I’m Holly Becker, and I'm thrilled to have you here!

As a writer and interior designer, I embarked on an exciting journey in 2005 when I left my corporate career as a space planner to follow my passion for interiors. Fast forward to today, and I'm proud to be an award-winning best-selling Interiors Author, Photographer, and Designer. It all started with a leap of faith, returning to school for interiors, and launching my renowned blog in 2006, called decor8. That blog catapulted my entire career.

I'm an inquisitive and creative American expat, happily embracing life abroad in northern Germany with my German husband and our wonderful 9-year-old son, Aidan. Over the past 17 years, I've immersed myself in the captivating world of interior design, building my own brand from the ground up. Through books, blog posts, lectures, magazines, podcasts, online classes, and more, I've made it my mission to share my research and experiences with all of you.

I've honed my skills as a content creator, writer, stylist, and photographer. My work has graced the pages of countless books, magazines, catalogs, newspapers, and blogs. In addition to continuing my journey with decor8, which I launched and still maintain today, I'm excited to expand my community here on Substack.

My client roster includes renowned names such as Domino, The Boston Globe, Real Simple, Living At Home, Flow, West Elm, Anthropologie, Ferm Living, Jonathan Adler, Martha Stewart, and many others. I collaborate with brands, developing products, and lend my expertise as a consultant and speaker at prominent industry events. I also create fair concepts for trend exhibitions at leading design fairs in Europe.

Being an online educator since 2009, I also empowered women to build creative careers as I have. I teach a wide range of skills, from content creation and photography to styling, online marketing, and email list building.
