I love that creators will come together to make things more often. We had a sofa table made recently by a friend who builds furniture as a "side hustle". We shared with him what we were looking to have & gave him artistic freedom to create! Its so much more meaningful to have the sofa table in our home!

Absolutely - so true. I love this concept too and hope more and more people will consult with local carpenters and designers to customize and create their own objects. It's a wonderful process.

I loved reading this Holly, particularly trend 5. I am so inspired by community and collaboration and want to embed these principles into my new business project.

This is so encouraging. Do you mean that you want to work more with locals and develop custom projects and products or?

Thanks so much for your interest, I am making small limited edition collections inspired by research that I gather from my local area and popping up once a month. I will then get feedback from the community and use this to inform and inspire the next collection.

I also plan to print tiny lookbooks which sit alongside each collection, sharing the story and inspiration behind the products, with ideas for creative projects that people can take away with them, encouraging the creativity to come full circle. Eventually I also hope to run some small workshops, collaborating with other local artists.

We have chatted before a long while ago, my Instagram is Posy and Petal and I have been dreaming of creating The Tiny Department Store for so many years but have finally decided to stop listening to my inner critic and make it happen. I have tried to put it into words on my substack. I have written two posts ‘the girl with the enormous tiny dream’ and ‘a shiny bicycle’ where I explain the concept. If you ever had a chance to read I would love that. I am from the UK (I met you in Anthropologie in Chelsea so many years ago) but am currently living in California

Oh yes of course - Posy and Petal - from the UK and you moved to London. I reached out to you years ago when I was in London asking if you’d like to meet up but it didn’t happen - later you ended up in California and sent me a collection of very tiny rocks with faces, I recall that!!! Funny how I know you so well by your brand not your name - but going forward I’ll connect both!!!

I know, I was so sad not to make our meet up work. Hopefully one day we will both be in the same city at the same time, I would love to have creative chats IRL! I had forgotten about the little package of pebble people, it makes me smile to think that they are in your home. Wishing you a lovely weekend x

Wow Holly! So much of this echoes me 🥰 I love biophillic design and vintage elements with pops of colour and pattern. You have made me feel great!

Where I live there is a very safe style with no one wanting to go outside of the trend box...

Hi Holly - do you have any more info about Diana Baur’s renovated Fachwerkhaus? My wife is a designer and we live in Stade, which has a lot of Fachwerkhäuser...so this is right up our alley ;)

Yes I definitely do - you can follow her on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/baur.studio/ and she worked closely with https://www.instagram.com/holzmanufaktur_rottweil/ https://holzmanufaktur-rottweil.de on the overall renovation since they personally know one of the owners (Hermann Klos) since he once owned their home and knew it inside and out. They are living just outside of Rottweil which I know is no where near Stade...

Thank you Holly! Yes Stade is a ways away, but Fachwerkhaeuser have a lot in common, wherever they are, and it's great to see what people are doing with them.
