Yay! I missed your audio content and am so happy to have yet another podcast to listen to now. š And I have a topic which Iām currently looking into: fireplaces. I imagine it to be so cozy to light a fire in the cold season - it makes the thought of the many dark hours more bearable. But is it still justifiable to install a fireplace? Or is it reprehensible because it harms the environment too much?
I really, really need entrepreneurial guidance š so I very much appreciate your willingness to share your insights and tips with us. Marketing (as a designer/architect) is my weak point.
I also like your perspective on things and a calm approach, which I find both inspiring and actionable, so I am looking forward to the "lifestyle insight" and "ladies only" topics, too. And will definitely enjoy all the rest, because, like @ninabarretta, I, too, am already in love with your podcast š
It definitely comes at the right time. I don't follow many podcasts, but I am excited about this one, daring to say it will be a "podcast you never knew you needed but won't be able to live without." š
Congrats on your new podcast! You could hear in your voice that this is something that is essentially bursting out of you after years of planning and anticipation.
Interesting that you chose to go the paid-only route. My wife and I are in the process of launching our own podcast for design newbies (still in private mode on Substack at the moment, but will make it public soon) and will definitely be casting as wife of a net as we can. But we are new to the whole topic and part of the goal is to find and win over clients for her interior design business, whereas you have a much more established subscriber base.
Itās of course very cool that with Substack, we have the option to do private things for paying customers, if we want.
Wonderful, yes I opted to have a paid-only podcast because I have been in the business for 18 years and plan to make my podcast very personal, like a consultation service for my subscribers if they wish - so they can literally ask me anything and I'll use my podcast to answer them. Also, I'll pick topics that are on my radar that I am keen on sharing. There is no podcast studio, advertising or sponsors, staff, and I don't think I'll have many guests - only from time to time if they can add a lot of value in areas I cannot.
Also want to add that I had a professional podcast on iTunes that was also on RTL+ here in Germany for a few seasons - here is what's left of it on Spotify (it's no longer on iTunes), if you want to listen. That was professionally done - in my own podcast studio in Hamburg, with guests we flew in, a very professional team, advertising and sponsorship, etc. It was growing and doing well, but sadly Corona came and that was the end of Hello Holly.
I had actually already found Hello Holly on Spotify - I Googled the name when you were talking about it on Ep1 of ReStyle and it popped right up - and am planning on listening to a few episodes at least to check it out. Too bad that Corona ended up killing it, and actually pretty unintuitive to me at first, as in my mind I always thought COVID was a boon to podcasts. But it makes perfect sense that with the model you had in place, there was no way to continue that once we were in lockdown. It sounds like the approach you are taking will be a lot more flexible and dynamic!
Hi Holly, I am 40+ and also relocated to Germany without a large plan. I live in the east part of the country and I am planning a major career shift. Here is my question. How do I know if I need a major shift or a slight adjustment? Wonder what do you think. Hugs.

Thank you so much - really - makes me feel good. Any particular topics you are looking forward to most?

Yes absolutely - doing it from home for me is the best way to prevent anything external inferring this time!
