This is a great article, Holly! I have seen so much burn out from really good content creators. My motto became “slow and steady” wins the race - but I couldn’t agree more that you need the WHY! What is the race to you? I believe every creative person should have a WHY first! Even if it’s as simple as “I want to bring beauty into the world” A simple statement like that can be the guiding star to the WAY or HOW! Hugs to you for wisdom!
What a joy to read this article Holly, just like you I blog for a long time, a lonely job and sometimes complex job as you describe so well in this article! It requires passion for what you do and write about, finding inspiration in everything you come across (it becomes a second nature, which can be exhausting to at times) and look beyond the actual blog online, like the travels and the friendships it brings us.
Nevertheless, you have to stay close to yourself and try not to get carried away by numbers on social media and others doing 'better' On days when this does happen, it is nice to think about your place online and I am super happy that I have always seen my blog as a basis. Reinventing things is where we are good at I guess otherwise we could not still be around. Anyway.... It brought me a lot, including our friendship x
i hear this. took a little break from IG (after 12 years of consistent content) that has turned into 8 months of joyful un-socialising. thank you for this as i nagivate my way back in-sta :) x
