We have a really small home, so my yoga setup fits into a large tote bag that I pull out for virtual classes on weekends. It still feels like a great setup for our space though, I'm always happy and excited when I can transform a section of the bedroom into a "studio".
That sounds perfect, I also use my bedroom at the moment and like it very much. My husband and I both work from home so I really do want a space separate from the rest of the house where I can escape and be alone so the yogagarten in my dream may be a good plan for me. But if my husband wasn't at home all day, I would honestly not really need the separate yoga space.
I loved reading this Holly and you've inspired me to see how I can create a space for myself too. A few years ago I got really into yoga, doing classes daily and I looked and felt considerably better. You've inspired me to find that joy again!
This is uplifting and makes me very happy, Karen. I really do feel better with yoga, more flexible, and so much more positive about my life and future. I cannot imagine going for more than a week without a yoga session. It really does something for me that nothing else does.
My husband and I have done yoga on and off since we were in our 20's (we are now 52 & 51). We picked up at home yoga in May 2020 and have kept it up ~ we just did it this morning. It is a wonderful way to wake up the body and mind. Then we walk the dogs, even today when it is snowing and cold.
I love this post. During the Summer I am able to use our refurbished screen porch as a dedicated yoga and core + strength work out room and LOVE it. During the winter that space is not useable (COLD) and we have less room, so have only the living room as an option. My struggle is an attractive spot to keep all the 'stuff' - my mat, my block, my roller (I'm a cyclist and use that a lot), my kettlebells, my weights. Right now they are sort of together in a corner, but it doesn't really work. Looking forward to seeing how your room comes together.
Maybe you can put everything behind a folding screen, something pretty that matches your living room, then when you need it - it's all there but hidden until you do?
Nice Holly! I’m so happy you are in the yoga flow. Yoga saved my life 25 years ago and still continues to do so. I love those cushions you mentioned, they might just show up at my new place. Love that you have your own separate space to create this container…enjoy!
Thank you Frances, I appreciate the kindness and encouragement. I definitely wish I had stuck with it when I tried it once at age 23. I had a bad experience, threw my back out, and never went back. Here I am 25 years later LOL!
My home is too small for a designated space, but the yoga mat is always ready and I regularly do Yoga with Adriane on YouTube - I love her style so much.
Please join her community in January, then we do a session every day!
Thank you Hanna for that link because I've not heard of her and was looking for an English-speaking teacher online as well - you read my mind - thank you again!

I’ll post it!

I’m so inspired! I practice daily for the past 4 years and haven't thought of “feathering my yoga nest” until now. Thanks for the idea! ❤️
This is wonderful news Victoria, I hope that it gives you a lot of joy to create that soft spot to land and unwind.

Also nice to make a BIG mandala in the yoga space...

Thank you for that link Lenora, but my wintergarten has woodchip wallpaper so I cannot stick anything to them. :(

I loved stumbling on this post—it's inspiring me to refresh a yoga space of my own! Thank you.
