Hurray Holly! What a lovely thing to share, that warm connecting glow!!! I'm so happy for you three! It's very true, sometimes it is hard to push ourselves out the "door". For me, it was the other direction. I used to have people over regularly and I loved it! I have all the dinnerware, glasses, vintage and new, all the "stuff". I love to cook and chat and my get togethers were always very happy, almost like dinner improv. I haven't done one in a few years for various reasons. Saturday, I got an email from a friend about the Feast of Epiphany and I thought, Well! It's time! So I invited some friends over for the NEXT DAY. It was magical! You know when it all just comes together? My heart feels 2 sizes bigger!
This is wonderful - thank you for sharing. Honestly I’m finding that I can’t really plan on advance that much anymore. I have to be spontaneous and more in the moment because I end up talking myself out of everything. I love that you just pushed yourself and did your dinner party. Doesn’t that feel good???
Emilie that’s a great reminder to you from your colleagues - that you’re a connector and helping others stick together! Isn’t it nice to know our gifts do matter?
Yes! So happy you connected as a trio. This resonated with me deeply. It’s a great reminder to keep those in person connections alive. By the way, I love how that pop of red/vermilion is on each of you with your clothing/jewelry. Another fun connection that was serendipitous.💖
Yes we alll commented this as well - we all had this very hot pink somewhere in our outfit. I almost wore all
Black with a checked scarf and white trainers and then added the Leo cardigan a minute before I left the house. Serendipity!!!! We also all ordered a matcha latte which was funny too since we didn’t plan that and ordered separately without knowing that the other ordered.
Yes! Get out of the house. We are social and we need connection with others, even if it's minimal (I am an introvert!)
Oh i so feel your anxiety and discomfort at venturing out of your house! I never regret these meetups, despite dreading them beforehand. It's always a boost.
Getting OUT can be so hard in winter here too - it gets dark earlier and you feel like it’s 8pm when it’s 4pm, so the energy level is inconsistent atm. I find myself needing naps each day now too - after corona I needed naps - I was like wtf! But I can lay down now and set my clock and take a 30 min nap at 3:00 and I’m ready for the world. However, this also means, I can’t meet people in the middle of the afternoon anymore unless I want to skip the nap and then get tired earlier in the evening. Midlife! LOL!
great post! I wrote a book on this subject called Coffee Connections: Finding Common Ground Through My Daily Brew as love finding commonality over coffee meetups.

Just what I needed to read! Thanks for inspiring me today and making me feel connected through your words 😊
I am so happy that I could make you have a warm feeling, Silvia! It inspires me to keep writing!
This is fantastic. I love stories like this.
At my job, people have described me as the glue keeping folks connected and breaking silos and misunderstandings.
Thank you for reminding all of us of this secret gift🤍

Yes it’s so depressing!
Such a lovely story, Holly, thank you for sharing.
I'd have joined you in the cafe (if teleporting was a thing 😉) and I'd have found it equally hard to leave my cosy home!
As long as you wear my favorite silver sneakers. :) I still want those for myself!!!!
